Today I left the bike in the Yamaha workshop to replace the tank, kneepads, oil and filters... Here you can see a video of the MotoGP pipes working... I hope you like the sound brothers: IMG_5103(1).MOV

Hi mate, Again I disagree with the solution that you propose... Maybe it was pretty difficult to explain correctly with words... so I´ve done a small study with several fast sketches of the top view of the different tail configurations arguing why it wouldn´t work in my bike (in my opinion) and why I placed my MotoGP exhausts in the place that I did. Here you have folks: Anyway, I´m completely thankful to have your opinions and listen different points of view mates... I hope you continue in order to improve!

I still have to think about how to design the part... but I think that the best solution for my bike wouldn´t be the same than yours, because my tail ends were the monoposto seat ends and also the pipes are pretty closed to the subframe... so I have not too much space to play. Also my racing exhausts are pretty thinner than yours I´d guess...To be honest, I think that your exhaust work pretty well with the carbon cover and the alu protectors! May be I´ll build a subframe cover and another 2 small heat protectors to cover the linkpipes until the frame... P.S.: Cool bike that yours mate

You´re wrong buddy, because yes, the racing mufflers are shorter than the Stage 2 ones... but they´re also thinner... in consequence always will be too gap (is pretty logical)... The issue is not the possition to place them, the problem is that they are two parts with pretty different widths. The possibilities were: 1. To place the mufflers in the center of the carbon covers: you have a little less gap to the heat shield walls, but you´ll have an ugly gap to the subframe and they seem too opened and weak too... and the gap to the covers is also ugly anyway. 2. To place the mufflers closed to the subframe and up: too gap to the lower wall of the cover. Ugly 3. To place the mufflers closed to the subframe and low: too gap to the upper wall of the cover. Even uglier. 4. To place the mufflers forwared: Doing this we reduce the gap because we end of the mufflers is the wider part... but we get a really strange design in every view... no dynamic at all... Now they end just at the same visual line than the tail. Also they would be too covered for the heat shields. Another important thing for me when I decided to cut the tail and install short pipes was to reduce the length of the tail but also the width (rear view)... and for this the stock carbon heat shields can´t help.

Here you can see it with the carbon heat shields: As I said before, too much gap!

No, I had them installed at first... but there´s too much gap.... and it doesn´t look good enought... I´ll show you pics with the carbon heat shields and the short Akras and you´ll see... I´ll have to design a handmade ones, thiner... or maybe another solution that I had in mind... Yesterday I removed the short Akras and installed the Stage 2 mufflers. I´ll order a dB Killers set in order to install the short Akras again... I made deaf a half of my neighbors on Saturday afternoon... and ethics tells me try not deafen the rest... For the moment I´ll ride with the Stage 2 Akras. Next Friday I´ll install the new tank. I can only describe it as be driving a damn reactor... Amazing but not for the civilized world!!!

Do you mean the carbon fiber heat shields (short covers) or the black plastic stock covers (long ones)?

You´re right man... it spits bloody fire and sounds really awesome... I have one short teaser, but the numberplate is visible and I don´t want to show it, hahahha... I´ll show you a video soon. Now I think that there´s too much gap between the mufflers and the carbon heat shield... So I´ll have to improve it in the future

    (MT-01) Akrapovic Stage 1

Hi guys, A good friend of mine just bought an Akrapovic Stage 2 and he wants to sell his Stage 1. It's in a very good condition and as you can see the mufflers only have a light scratch made by the aluminium protectors (one of the aluminium protectors broke once and it scratched the left muffler lightly). DB Killers and their legal documents are included. Their price, 750€ (shipping from Spain not included)

Don´t worry we all can´t like same things... But we both love the f***ng Angel Eyes, don´t ya?
  21. Man... This numberplate is dancing!!! Are you sure that it will resist??? I already broke a couple... because of this I built a carbon fiber numberplate holder.

Thanks bro! This was the idea: to use same color of the frame and wheels (Gun Smoke MBM3 - Matt Blue Metallis 3 - 0960), but we had a problem to use the official colour for the graphics because currently this paint is only produced in acrylic version (ecollogical reasons, you know)... but the painter told me that for that kind of artwork he prefers urethane paint (he uses airbrush). So he had to match the colour freestyle... risky way you would think... even a friend of mine told me that it would be very hard, because some time ago he ordered the same task in a Yamaha workshop to paint some parts of his bike in this colour and it was almost impossible to reproduce that bloody color and they needed a lot of time... but I know the skills of that painter of Aerdiseño and I knew that he´s awesome in his job, in fact and he only needed 5 minutes to get a perfect testing colour... he´s a beast! A couple of days ago I replaced the old transmission kit... some pics: Before: After: Supersprox Rear Sprocket + D.I.D. Z VMX 530 + Renthal Ultralight Front Sprocket This weekend I´ll clean the bike... I swear
  23. Cool to see another guy who also was brave enought to cut and rebuild the subframe of his MT-01! I like also shorts motorcycle tails even more in our bike. Cool also the short pipes! Next week I´ll install mine too.
